Premature (2014)

Directed by Dan Beers, is a raunchy teen comedy with a clever supernatural twist. The film follows 17-year-old Rob, who, after an embarrassing sexual mishap, finds himself stuck in a Groundhog Day-style time loop, reliving the same day over and over. Each time he wakes up, he’s moments away from losing his virginity—only to be interrupted by absurd and humiliating circumstances.

As Rob tries to break the cycle, he learns lessons about love, maturity, and what truly matters in relationships. The film blends crude humor with heartfelt moments, offering a fresh take on the teen sex comedy genre. Alan Tudyk delivers a hilarious performance as Rob’s eccentric guidance counselor, while Craig Roberts shines as the awkward but endearing protagonist.

While Premature doesn’t shy away from raunchy gags, it also has surprising depth, exploring themes of self-worth and emotional connection. The time-loop gimmick keeps the story engaging, and the sharp writing ensures plenty of laughs. Though it didn’t make a huge splash upon release, the film has gained a cult following for its witty script, charming performances, and unique spin on adolescent angst. It’s an underrated gem for fans of smart, raunchy comedies.
